Fighting Cancer in Dogs

Unfortunately when it comes to dog care, and fighting cancer in dogs, many people in the Columbus area, as well as around the world, simply do not know how to take care of a dog that is dealing with cancer. Below are a few tips that can help dog owners fight cancer in their beloved pets.

Vaccines
One of the most important things you can do to fight cancer in dogs is not getting any type of vaccine for your dog. Vaccines contain a formula that has been proven to play a role in causing cancer or making cancer worse. This means that you should try not to get your dog vaccinated and if your dog has cancer, any type of cancer, then you will not want to have them vaccinated.

Diet
Just as the case is with humans, diet can play an important role in fighting cancer in dogs. If your dog has cancer, then certain types of dog food can help them fight it off. Usually dog food that contains natural ingredients is best for dogs with cancer. Also, try giving your dog food that contains Omega Fatty Acids, as they can help prevent the growth of some tumors.

Also, when feeding dogs some bones, you will want to make sure that they are raw because it is a proven fact that raw bones are not safe for dogs, especially dogs that have cancer.

Supplements
There is no pill on the market that can actually cure cancer, but there are supplements that are designed to help dogs prevent different types of cancer. There are also supplements that can also limit tumor growth, so if your dog has cancer, then you may want to consider getting some supplements that can help fight cancer and limit tumor growth.

There are plenty of supplements that are designed to help improve your dog’s immune system, and the stronger the immune system the better things will be for your dog. Having a strong immune system is one of the best things your dog can have in the fight against cancer.

Start Reducing Exposure To Carcinogens
There are many chemicals that contain agents that are considered carcinogens, and reducing your dog’s exposure to them can help them fight dog cancer. For example, there are many dog shampoos that you should avoid, such as ones that contain phthalates, parabens and sulphates. Also, if you smoke cigarettes, then try to smoke in a designated area where your dog is not allowed to go. If you do any type of work on your car or you let your dog out by your vehicle, then do your best to keep them far away from the exhaust pipes, because the last thing you want them to do is sniff the pipes.

As you can see there are a few things you can do to fight cancer in dogs, but keep in mind that some of these tips may or may not work for your own dog. This is because some cancers are more aggressive than others, but you should still try some of these things out.
